It's become my daily driver - the perfect level of abstraction over tmux + git, without getting in the way or obscuring the underlying tooling.

Ten commands become two.

By hand

Setup

Ready the moment it opens.

New worktrees are clean checkouts. Copy in what git leaves out, like .env, and let each pane install and start what it runs.

Sandbox

Unattended agents, contained.

Run agents in a container or Lima VM scoped to the worktree. Host keys, credentials and files stay outside.

Remote servers

Agents that keep working when you close the lid.

Run any agent on a Linux server you reach over SSH. Its window stays in your tmux session, it survives sleep and lost Wi-Fi, and workmux merge brings the work home.

Works with any server you can ssh into: a home box, a Proxmox VM or a cloud instance. Agents run directly on it or in Docker. Remote servers guide →
